SPANISH COLONIAL COLLECTIONS
Discover the rare jewelry, weapons, and bullion of the fabled Spanish galleons that carried people and precious cargoes to and from the Americas. The collection includes objects from the Santa Clara (1563); Nuestra Señora de Atocha, Santa Margarita, and Buen Jesus, of the 1622 Fleet; and ships sailing with the fleets of 1715 and 1733.

MARITIME SLAVE TRADE COLLECTION




The Mel Fisher Maritime Museum has the most extensive collection of artifacts and archives documenting the maritime slave trade. Learn about the merchant slaver, Henrietta Marie; the pirate slaver Guerrero and slave chaser, HMS Nimble; the last slave ships Peter Mowell, Wildfire, William, and Bogota; and the Key West African Cemetery.

MARITIME HISTORY OF THE FLORIDA KEYS
Explore the rich history of the Florida Keys through research, archaeological surveys, excavation, and collections. Artifacts in this part of the collection range from evidence of an ancient forest below the sea floor, or tools made by Indigenous Calusa to the bones from the Key West Turtling industry and personal possessions abandoned by Cuban migrants on their way to a new life.
